Featuring a bilingual children’s book, El Maravilloso Mundo de Susy La pequeña Hormiga Aventurera - The Wonderful World of Susy The Adventurous Little Ant, written by Naivi Vera. Enjoy the story while you walk the StoryWalk trail at Mario Leal City Park.

Children’s Sunflowers Class by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
Sunflowers Program for Children is a hands-on class open to children of all ages. This Texas A&M AgriLife Program includes: parts of a sunflower, benefits to humans and animals, seeds and oils, sunflower craft, and more. This is a great class for those who homeschool, or just want to attend a fun, hands-on class for children.

Stressed after a long day? Want to have a relaxing moment? Discover an oasis of calm, with softly playing Zen music and aromatherapy, while you paint with watercolors, do a puzzle, or color adult coloring pages. Open to all who want a Zen moment at the Library. Your mind needs it, and it will thank you.

MLK Jr. Day Closure
Elsa Public Library will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The library will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, July 20, 2026.
Sewing Machine Basics and Quilting Class Introductory Meeting and Enrollment
If you are interested in joining this class, please attend this important meeting. Class size will have a max of sixteen (16) persons, on a first come, first served basis. A waitlist will be available. You must attend this meeting to enroll in the class. Instruction and guidance by the Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild. Materials and tools will be provided. Class will meet on Saturdays, once weekly (except the 2nd Saturday of the month). Further information about the course will be provided at meeting.

Take the Bait Fishing Program for Children is a hands-on class open to children of all ages. This Texas A&M AgriLife Program includes: fishing terminology, benefits of fishing, ecosystem education, types of fishing lures, fishing rod craft, and more. This is a great class for those who homeschool, or just want to attend a fun, hands-on class for children.

Enter the Christmas Cookie Bake-Off for a chance to win. All ages welcome to participate. Saturday, December 20, 2025. Bring your cookies to the Photos with Santa event between 5:00pm and 6:00pm. Enter one plate of cookies of your choice to be judged on taste and presentation. Cookies must be homemade, not store-bought. One type of cookie per entry. Winner does not need to be present to win.

Blood Drive
Elsa Public Library is partnering with Vitalant Blood Donation Services. Blood drive on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Elsa Public Library. No registration required. Contributions save lives! Participating donors will have the chance to win a $20,000 prepaid gift card from 12/1/25 - 12/31/25 at any Vitalant blood drive or donation center. One winner will be randomly selected in a drawing on or around January 8, 2026. Come on out and donate some blood.
