Origin and Mission

StoryWalk was created in 2007 by its founder, Anne Ferguson of Vermont. Partnered with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, the StoryWalk concept has spread to all 50 states, as well as 13 countries worldwide.

Connecting reading, physical activity, and nature in a fun and educational way. StoryWalk provides early literacy to children. Reading a StoryWalk book with family can improve vocabulary, spelling, enunciation skills, build family togetherness, and much more. StoryWalk brings the library to the community in an enjoyable and diverse way - outdoors. Let’s take a walk on the StoryWalk trail.
